Open House 2016

On Thursday, February 4th Child Care Council of Nassau held an Open House in our new office space at 99 Quentin Roosevelt Boulevard in Garden City.  Council had moved in the spring of 2015 and it was finally time to show off our new location.  Our doors were open from 8AM until 8PM, in order to make the event easier to attend.  A constant stream of public officials, Family/Group Family Child Care Providers, Child Care Center Directors, non-profit colleagues, and friends were welcomed throughout the day.

The Open House gave staff and board members the opportunity to informally chat with guests while taking a tour of the office. Council’s staff  had a chance to showcase our many programs, new initiatives, and discuss the hallmarks of quality child care.  Guests were encouraged to stop for a sampling of delicious soup and healthy snacks made by our staff and nutritionists representing the Child & Adult Care Food Program, Farm to Pre-School and  Eat Well Play Hard in centers and home-based programs.

Attendees were especially touched by a presentation from Mayor Wayne Hall, Sr. of the Village of Hempstead made in appreciation of Council’s consultation with a Village employee.  Over a dozen employees from the Village office accompanied the Mayor to thank Council and show their gratitude for the extra help Council was able to provide.

The list of guest names is too long to mention each visitor that day.  And so, Council would rather extend sincere thanks to all who made the effort to come to our Open House.  It was so successful, in our opinion, that we may do it again next year!  In fact that was a recommendation from many of guests as they said their good-byes.

For those of you who were unable to make it, please give us a call to make a date to visit.  Keep your eyes open for a save the date for an encore of our Open House in the future!
